What a joy to partner with Texas Home School Coalition! Thanks so much to THSC for hosting our family!

This was our fourth THSC Convention and this is how we have always attended–as a family! It is an amazing time of learning, encouragement, and fun. It’s like…homeschool family camp! It takes us to amazing places and then brings us back together. It’s a mini vacation that I look forward to every year. If you’re a homeschool mom who has attended year after year alone, I encourage you to take this next time and go as a family if you can.

When asked what I loved most about the THSC Convention in Arlington, I replied, “What my husband learned!” He always gains much more understanding of what I face at home day in and day out while he is listening to the speakers. It’s so funny, I may have been saying it for months, but when he hears it from a speaker at convention somehow it makes more sense. Ha ha. This year when I asked him what he learned, he said, “So you’re not trying to win an argument, you’re just trying to get me to understand…” Oh my goodness! What a break through. Yes! My husband comes from a long line of winners. 😉
This year’s speaker line-up is fantastic! I always love hearing from Andrew Pudewa. He inspires me. Even a topic that I may think sounds tedious is filled with humor and intrigue and just plain makes me think about things whether or not I always come to the same conclusion.
We absolutely loved hearing from Reb and Bev Bradely who are seasoned homeschoolers with adult children. I hung on every word as they shared their wisdom and insight into the family, where they went wrong, what they did right, and what they are still working on. We look forward to hearing these and many more speakers at The Woodlands!

Convention is a great place to shop all things homeschooling. Vendors always offer a deal and sometimes you even run into your child’s teacher. When you use CDs or online classes the kids always get a great kick out of finally meeting the people they’ve been watching or listening to–so fun!
I’ve always wanted to attend the Encouragement by Chocolate. This year we enjoyed beverages and delicious treats as we learned from Bev Bradley. Join us in The Woodlands to hear Heidi St. John!
And the final add on is a treat for the family that you won’t want to miss. The Amazing Chemistry Show began with an hour of hands on activities where my children had the opportunity to launch rockets, eat bugs, and do science experiments and crafts. Afterward the show was so exciting as we wondered what would happen next. See how chemistry points us to God in The Amazing Chemistry Show!

This year while I attended the convention with my family, at the end of the day my husband took the kids home and I roomed with these ladies! I don’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve stayed up until past 3 am talking and laughing, but it was good for the heart I tell ya. I absolutely loved being a part of the VIP Blogger team, and we are thrilled to be heading to The Woodlands July 21-24 to meet with bloggers there. Are you a homeschool blogger?
