I get a kick out of how descriptive my three-year-old Little Jason is. I don’t remember my other kids being so detailed. After I put out a few Christmas decorations he pointed to the mantle and asked, “What’s that?”
“It’s a wreath.”
“Oh, a little, tiny one.”
It surprised me that he thought it was small so I asked him, “Have you seen any other wreaths?”
“Yeah, the big, huge wreath on the back of the big, huge door.”
Sure enough. My brother sent us a real wreath for Christmas that I did in fact place on the front door.
On another occasion it cracked me up how he asked for a drink: “I want a cup with water inside of it please, and no lid.”
I think at this age all three of my girls would have just shouted, “Want drink!”

oh cute. It’s so fun when they think for themselves and what comes out of their mouths. My 3 year old nephew has been speaking in complete sentences since before he turned two. And he is HILARIOUS!
Wow, he is one smart child that clearly sees details easily. I love the way he asked for water – it was detailed too.
Sounds like his attention to detail will either be helpful or annoying to his future wife!
That IS so cute; kids really are wonderful in so many ways. I love looking at the world through their eyes. My oldest was VERY inquisitive; and now at 23 yrs. old, he has a young daughter (1) who is the same. I love it!!!
you’ve got one smart, observant kiddo there! how cute!!
He is so adorable and smart too!
So cute. I love “seeing” the world through a child’s eyes. Funny what they notice and talk about sometimes, isn’t it?
That is so funny. This is the best blog!
Exactly the same as Evan at the same stage… And even now, at age 5 he’s way ahead of where his brothers were at the same time. I guess that’s what comes from having older siblings too.
Cute! ….”with water inside of it.” Verrrryy specific!
Doggone smart kid. Watch him become a prodigy of some sort.
Maybe he’ll be a writer and follow in your footsteps.
