This sermon is for you!

My husband and I were sitting in church a couple of years ago.  I don’t remember what the sermon was about, but the pastor gave an example of a mother that didn’t show love for her children.  With a jerk my husband craned his head my direction.  My jaw hit my chest as I stared at him.  Did he really think I was like the mother in the example?  And if he did maybe he could have broken it to me gently and not  in front of the whole church!

My shocked expression took him by surprise.  It was only then that his brain did a quick rewind and he actually heard what the pastor had just said.  He started laughing.  “No I was thinking of something else,” he whispered when he could contain himself long enough.  He had just remembered something important he had forgotten to do.  Ha ha!  For several seconds we both sat there shaking the entire pew.  Whew.  That was embarrassing.  I always wondered what went on in the minds of the people behind us!

I just read what you wrote about me and the comments. I do so appreciate everyone who prayed for me. I got out of the hospital last night and don’t feel like running any races, but I’m okay.
