A family vacation is just not a family vacation without all the mishaps, and we had more than our share this last time. After all the trouble we had getting into Busch Gardens, we thought that was the end of our troubles…we were wrong!
As you can imagine, the kids were a little grumpy through all the waiting to get into the park. And as a result they weren’t as jovial when we entered either, but we ate breakfast, saw alligators, and then went to the Christmas On Ice Show.
We walked by and saw the time. The 11:00 show was just about to start. We parked our stroller in front with the rest of the strollers and ran in to catch the show. I loved it!
When we came out, our stroller was gone. Jason was worried, but I told him that I had read about this. Hark! I had the answer. Sometimes at theme parks I had read that they move your stroller to a designated stroller section. “Lets just check around the building.” We turned the corner and sure enough there was a huge line of strollers parked behind a corded off section. “See. I told you!” But we looked through all the strollers and couldn’t find ours.
“Great. It’s our first theme park on the first day of a week of theme parks and someone stole our stroller. That figures,” after the morning we had, had we just couldn’t believe that we lost our stroller too. We waited, but everyone came to claim their strollers. Pretty soon all the people and strollers were gone and we were still standing there.
I had lost a stroller on a trip before when I boarded a plane and it was never returned. I dreaded not having our trusty double stroller with all of our stuff in it for the entire vacation. As we dejectedly began to walk away, I suggested, “Let’s just check around the back of the building to make sure.” There wasn’t much hope. My husband and the kids didn’t even go with me. I turned the corner and…there it was behind a sign that read something like, “Stroller Parking.” There were only two strollers there left there and ours was one of them. I laughed out loud! How happy was I to see our old, dirty, very well used stroller. Really, had someone actually been looking to steal a stroller, I don’t think it would have been ours! Ha ha. The joke was on us and well, at that point, I was the only one laughing.
We did go on to have a wonderful day at Busch Gardens, truly one of our favorite theme parks!
The next day we went to the beach…you’ll NEVER guess what happened to me on the way…
