The Homeschool Experiment Review & Giveaway

You first met Charity Hawkins when she shared with us If You Give a Mom a Recipe for Potato Soup and then later she also shared a post about her Super Kids with us.

When Charity contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of her novel The Homeschool Experiment, I was thrilled.

This is the story of Julianne Miller, a character who I have a very hard time believing is fictitious.  She and I have so much in common, I’m sure we’d be best friends!

Julianne feels like God is calling her to homeschool, but she has no idea what she is doing.  The story takes her from the overwhelming feeling of her first homeschool book fair to the completion of her first year.

I loved this book.  It is so real.  Change a few details here and there and this is my homeschool experience!  Which curriculum to use?  How do I deal with family and friends that think I’m crazy?  How do I get all the things done in a day without going nuts?  Julianne wrestles with these questions and many more.

Whether you homeschool or not, I think you will enjoy this humorous and encouraging story about one mom’s homeschool journey.

Charity Hawkins has very graciously offered a copy for me to give away!   Please enter below.  When the giveaway closes I will email the winner, who will have 24 hours to send me a name and address.  The winner will have the opportunity to choose a hard copy, Kindle or Nook format.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

How much does the book sell for? I won’t enter for the free book. I’d like to know where to get a copy on Kindle. I did a limited amount of homeschooling, enough to be able to relate. It sounds like a good read.

My little ones aren’t quite school age. I have entertained the idea of home schooling versus public school. Either way, this looks like a fun read.

We’ve been homeschooling since the kids were old enough to start learning. We aren’t planning on stopping anytime soon.

I just had to share this with a friend who is getting ready to start homeschooling. Looks like a great book. BTW, have you ever read any of the Yada Yada books? They are christian fiction as well. http://makingourlifematter.com/book-reviewyada-yada-prayer-group-by-neta-jackson/ Totally OT, sorry. 🙂

This looks like a great story! Right now I think that homeschooling would be a great option for us – hubby thinks not so much…but I’d love to read about someone else’s experience – especially since it hit so close to your real life experience, Esther! Thanks for sharing!

I haven’t officially begun to homeschool, yet. Though, I do teach my son different things here and there as we go through daily life anyways. We will start Bible “Class” next month and then next year, I’ll throw myself, full-force, into something more structured… Lord willing!
