What in the world is this?
A friend from church asked me how I was feeling. Now I can tell you that it is well with my soul, but if you ask me how I’m feeling you’re going to get an honest answer. I had been feeling horrible. I even told my doctor only to have her laugh at me! I find that many people pray and genuinely care when things are rough, but few (including me) actually take the next step and DO something to help. She offered to bring a meal, and I felt guilty accepting because, after all, we were eating, albeit many a sandwich…
but not on this day. On this day we enjoyed a fajita feast. This is a meal that every one of us love. This sweet lady said we would probably eat it for a week and we did, enjoying every bit of it!
I remember that on this day I felt a little better than I had been. I have continued to feel much better ever since. At my 30 week appointment everything looked good. I will get to see my baby again at my next appointment because of my “advanced maternal age.” Ha ha! A big thank you to my friend and to all of you who have been praying for me.

Sometimes the thought that someone remembers and cares for you is more important than the actual act itself! A pregnant Mom with other kids really could use the help with everyday things! I’ve only had three (with one babysitting kiddo thrown in), but it’s very hard at the end. We work harder than we realize, I think, or so my OB told me when she put me on bed rest anyway. 🙂
That lady was really extraordinarily thoughtful. Not many people think to do that unless maybe someone has died.
What a sweet gesture! I love that fact that she also sent it all in disposable containers so there was nothing to return. Makes me wish I lived closer because I would love to bring you a meal. 🙂 Saying a prayer for you this morning that all continues to go well in your pregnancy.
Ohhh I love that Esther! Blessings to your friend!! I love the “advanced maternal age!” I was 42 when my last babe was born. I didn’t feel “advanced” then, but I sure do now! LOL
Take good care of yourself

So glad you’re starting to feel better! Pregnancy can really take it out of you. Those fajitas look wonderful!
I bet it tasted EXTRA good just because you didn’t have to make it 🙂
That was really nice! Hopefully someone will do the same thing afterwards, too.
With my last, I also felt miserable during my pregnancy, even though I didn’t have anything more serious than low blood sugar. But I felt nauseous the whole time, achy, etc.
On the other hand, I had the BEST labor ever – about an hour from start to finish (I normally have hours of grueling back labor). So who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and have a really easy labor!
Mmm, YUM … fajitas. I’m not pregnant any more, but after looking at that delicious pic, I know what I’m going to be adding to next week’s menu 🙂
This is so much the norm at our church that I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more in th eworld. But tis amazing when it happens as serendipitously as this! Wonderful.
That is so sweet! And it looks so delicious too!
Very sweet. It makes me think of some mamas around me who might appreciate this…Hopefully I can take it further than just a thought.
That looks yummo — but do you have to be pregnant to have this delivered? Not gonna happen here. Impersable at this point 🙂
I’m so glad that you were able to enjoy a meal that you didn’t have to prepare! Praying that you continue to feel better!
Oh my goodness! Where have I been?! I didn’t know you were pregnant – or maybe I did and it’s just been that long since I have visited your blog *shame on me*
Congratulations and God bless your friend for the fajita dinner. It’s always a blessing to have someone help you out when you need it.
What a wonderful thing for someone to do for you! It looks really yummy too! I cannot believe you are 30 weeks along already! Hope you are feeling comfortable today!
Congratulations on the good baby news!!!!
Aww! What a sweet woman. I have a very dear friend who made me a meal the other month just because I was feeling overwhelmed. I have friends who cleaned my house AND made a meal back when I had morning sickness last winter. I tell you, ladies like these are rare, and true friends indeed!
well your definitely lucky to have her around! not all close to your heart can be thoughtful as that..
The fajitas look delicious. I’m glad someone is taking care of you. LOL
Through our hands, God’s work gets done!
