I took the kids early to Vacation Bible School because I didn’t want to battle the long lines with all the kids. I got the oldest two settled just fine, but when I went to Grace’s section I had a problem. Her paper said that she was on team “F.” There were leaders holding up different letters, but there was no “F.”
I stood around for a little while. Finally, I asked some of the other leaders. One of them told me that maybe the team leader hadn’t shown up, and that I should go inquire with the coordinator. I took the youngest three all the way back to the front of the church and saw that by now the lines were extremely long. I was not about to get behind every one. I went back up to the same lady that had checked us in and said, “Excuse me but I am told there is no team “F,” I was going to say more but noticing the look on her face I just waited.
“It’s my fault,” she said, “I’m a dork. When I wrote the teams down I thought it was this column right here containing the letters “F” and “M.” She swallowed, “That was the column for male and female.”
Oh I loved it! That was my laugh for the day. That is something that would happen to me. I also loved that she told me what happened. She could have just switched the letter and I would never had known.
I’m linked with Women Living Well.

Always good when people are secure enough in themselves to acknowledge their mistakes and laugh about them!
I know exactly how you feel about having to stand in so many lines to sign in each of your kids. I also go early to VBS for that very reason.
That is hilarious ~ I wonder how many other kids she sent over to Team “F”? Or Team “M” for that matter!!
This story is awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. Hope you are having a great Wednesday.

That could totally happen to me also! LOL Have a great day!
I have days like that! Switching up names, days, etc. It’s good to laugh at ourselves:) Blessings!
Oh I love it ! That is so cute. I am in Bible College right now to become a teacher but for now I will be doing VBS. I can see this happening in my near future.
OH wow! I would have made something up! Good for her for being so brave. And good for you for being able to laugh instead of being annoyed for all your “trouble”!
Oh, now, this was really funny. Sounds like something I’d do.
