We left White Water Park in Branson about an hour before closing. I wanted to beat the rush to the changing rooms as I was having visions of standing in a long line in hot, humid bathroom with five exhausted children. We found a nearby Steak & Shake. Jason must have been feeling really good after a day of sleeping on the trip up there (with a migraine) because he bought all the kids huge shakes and then decided he wanted to explore Branson.
Jason drove to Table Rock State Park. The sun was just beginning to go down and the lake was breathtaking. Several couples and families had brought their picnic lunches to eat overlooking the lake.
Oh sorry to make you dizzy with this photo. We were on a hill so either the horizon was going to be leaning or my son so I guess I went with the horizon. Even Bobby enjoyed looking out at the lake.
Dad showed the kids how to skip rocks and they had a blast trying it, thought I think their every rock sunk. Skipping is an art!
We had to drag Little Jason away from the lake and rocks; he was having so much fun!
But Jason had spotted a trail and wanted to explore. We walked down the trail a little while when I realized there was no end in sight. Mean old mom put an end to the exploring, but after a day at the water park and driving all day the day before, I was completely done in. Reluctantly everyone turned back. I was thankful we did, because as we walked to the van we found the trail map. It is 2.2 miles long! It goes by the landing near Silver Dollar City’s Branson Belle Showboat. There is also the Dewy Short Visitor Center at the park. If we make it back to Branson, I’d love to spend more time here.

We really enjoy camping here, however it gets crowded so reservations are a must! Pretty pictures! Sounds like a very long day!!
That is a beautiful lake and park.
We enjoyed camping there a couple of times back when our kids were little. They had a lot of fun fishing and throwing rocks in the lake too = )
Skipping is an art! The trick is in flicking your wrist.
Pretty! I will keep this in mind next time we go to Branson! 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
