Support of friends

I’ve told you about the ups and downs of the last few weeks.  At times it was very draining emotionally.  The kids felt it too.  I was slack on discipline, and boy that never works in your favor I’ll tell ya!

One evening it was getting to be close to supper time and I realized I had absolutely nothing planned for supper.  I literally just had the thought, “What am I going to make for supper?  I don’t have anything,” when a friend messaged me on Facebook and said something like, “Hey we’ve had company and have some extra food in the fridge I could bring it over tonight if you want!”  A half hour later Carly knocked on my door and brought a whole meal!

Food from a friendShe brought Buffalo chicken salad for sandwiches, chips, and the best lemon cookies I’ve ever had!  I need that recipe!  🙂  There was also a little bag of chocolates.  “Mom, sent this for you,” she said, “not the kids.”  I took that quite literally and hid it right away!  What a blessing this was on one of those tough days.

My church family has also been so supportive of us during this time.  Their hugs, prayers, and encouragement have meant so much.  My pastor’s daughter, Ashley came and stayed with the kids when I was in the hospital.  My pastor and his wife came and prayed with us at the hospital.  They also blessed our family with a wonderful meal.

Dinner from a friendThe day after I got home from the hospital we feasted on carnita tacos, Mexican rice, and homemade chips, salsa, and queso.  Yum!

FlowersThey also brought flowers.  Aren’t they pretty?  I just love flowers.  Just looking at them makes me feel better!

Another night we enjoyed a lasagna from a friend too!  I just wanted you all to know that I’ve been well taken care of and that I’m feeling well.  Probably a little too well, I wouldn’t recommend doing a Sam’s Club run with only the help of a one-year-old three days after a trip to the ER.  Ahem.

Esther
