St. Patrick’s Day out

Many have asked what we did for St. Patrick’s Day.  I know that in the past I have claimed St. Patrick’s Day as our family holiday and have really done it up big for the kids.  So you may be disappointed that I didn’t do anything at home this year.  I just haven’t had it in me to plan and celebrate.  I have so many things that I think need done like catching up with the kids’ school work, that I just couldn’t give up a day to play and don’t have the energy right now to get it all done.  So there ya go I’ve been a real downer!  🙂  But even though I didn’t spend a lot of time and energy creating at home, we still celebrated and had a great time.

Green Lemonade at Raising Cane's

I heard that Raising Cane’s had green lemonade for St. Patrick’s Day!  Raising Cane’s is one of my favorite fast food restaurants.  At first I didn’t really want to try it and thought it would be just another chicken place, but I love it.  Their Cane’s sauce for dipping the fried chicken fingers is amazing!

St Patrick's Day at Raising Cane'sWe can eat there fairly economically by ordering a couple of baskets and splitting them with the family.  They have a Club Card with special offers like the free green lemonade for St. Patrick’s Day–so fun!

Mint Chocolate Chip Shake for St. Patrick's DayFor dessert we went to a little burger place near our home that sells the best mint chocolate chip shakes using Blue Bell ice cream!

St Patrick's day outSo that was the extent of our celebration.  Are you disappointed?  The kids were a little disappointed in the beginning of the day when they realized it was going to be a regular school day, but they seemed to have fun going out for green lemonade and shakes and no on complained.  Me?  I know it would have been easy to make green lemonade and shakes at home but…I was very happy to get out of the house.  🙂
