There is so much to do at Moody Gardens I couldn’t possibly get it all in one post! My list began yesterday: 10 reasons to visit Moody Gardens.
3. Moody Gardens Garden Restaurant. I tend to be a little apprehensive of food at tourist attractions. It generally seems to be over priced and bland at best, but our group was hungry and we didn’t want to waste any of our day driving around to save a few dollars, so we cooled down in the beautiful restaurant.
I ordered the Stuffed Avocado Salad with Chicken Salad. It was fabulous, and the Greek Vinaigrette dressing was so good we licked the plate–a little! I know, I know, but it was SO GOOD! 🙂 My sister ordered the Harvest Salad and loved hers as well.
The children devoured their kids meals and one of my daughters said it was, “The best chicken strips ever!” She would know. She eats a lot of chicken! I had to try them and I liked them too.
4. Discovery Museum. This area of the Pyramid changes periodically. SPEED: Science in Motion will be there until January 10, 2016. Here children can explore the technology of Formula One auto racing, from physics and engineering to human endurance and biology. Experience first hand a pit lane, workshop, and physical testing environments. My kids love all the hands on learning that happens in the Discovery Museum!
5. Sponge Bob Subpants Adventure. This was new since our first visit, and we were all excited for the adventure. We do not have Nickelodian on our TV so we don’t watch the Sponge Bob show. I wondered if we would “get” everything, but it was a super fun attraction for anyone whether you are a huge Sponge Bob fan or have never seen the show.
Our guide was so fun and really built the excitement. Joy was chosen to be the submarine navigator, which gave her a great front row seat where she got to choose the direction the sub would go.
Patrick Star is the captain of the sub! I don’t know how they do it but the improvised, real time interaction with Patrick Star left me shaking my head in wonder. That was SO cool! The 3D media, special effects and whirlwind of surprises is another great reason to visit Moody Gardens!

Moody Gardens sounds like a really fun place to go with the kids. Too bad I live in CA!
