I love beef stroganoff. I think I’ve liked it every way I’ve ever tried it, even the prepackaged versions. But this is my absolute favorite beef stroganoff recipe and in the slow cooker it is so easy! It is one of my stand by recipes whenever we have company.
Ingredients:
2 pounds beef stew meat
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of GOLDEN MUSHROOM Soup
1 large onion chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
Add the beef, onion, Golden Mushroom soup (Not cream of mushroom soup), and pepper to the slow cooker. If you love mushrooms you can also add a can. Mix, cover and cook on low for 8 – 10 hours. If I need it ready a little quicker I start it on high for 2 hours and then turn it to low for 4 more hours.
Stir in the cream cheese until blended and melted. I stir it in and then cover the slow cooker for 10 to 15 minutes and then stir it again. Then add the sour cream. Done! My favorite way to eat it is served over white rice. I think that’s how my mom made it, but you can serve it over noodles if you prefer. This serves 8 easily. We usually have some left over even with company.
Hey, did you notice my brand new Crock Pot? It was a wedding present. The one I had used all these years finally died so I went to the garage and opened a new one that I’d had for…16 years. I always knew it would come in handy. Ha ha!

I went to Krpger and couldn’t find golden mushroom soup. Where are you buying it?
Kroger carries it but I’ll tell you the truth I have a hard time finding them every time. I’m not sure why, because when I finally see it, it was in plain view, but I have a terrible time finding them. 🙂 Ask an associate next time. I bet they will know right where it is.
