Mornings–I’ve always struggled with them. When I was little, I remember my parents telling people, “Esther is very easy to get along with…except in the morning.” I just need a little time to wake up, that’s all! I’m not quite coherent the instant my feet hit the floor. I have had to adjust as I’ve had children. My second daughter is one of those morning people the rest of us groan about. The instant her eyes pop open she’s ready to go. When she was younger I’d regularly wake up to find her next to me practically shouting, “Want breakfast!”
As my children grew and especially after I began homeschooling, I forced myself to get up before them to have some time to drink my coffee and wake up. Then I would get the kids all out of bed by 7:30 and we would start school at 8:00. That routine worked great until I was pregnant with Bobby. At forty I found myself drastically more tired through the pregnancy. I’d take back my mornings after he was born I thought. Then he was born and recovery was slow. I didn’t recover my energy until just recently when I weaned Bobby. I was ready to start over, but yep then I got pregnant all over again. This pregnancy has been a roller coaster ride and you know what? I’ve got to take back my mornings anyway. I can’t keep waiting.
This has been on my mind and heart for a while, so I was so excited when I saw that Seattle’s Best Coffee is challenging us to take back our mornings. I was introduced to Seattle’s Best Coffee at breakfast one day at Blissdom.
I could not get enough of their coffee that morning. I drank much more coffee than usual, and I was a little worried about it. I am very sensitive to the caffeine in some coffee and often get a migraine after drinking even one cup, but it was so good I figured I’d just deal with the migraine later. Guess what? I never got one! This is a great way to begin my mornings!
I went to Walmart to find some Seattle’s Best Coffee as well as some breakfast food to help make mornings a little easier. For my entire shop including fun with the kids make sure and check out my Google+ photo album!
You can go to the Take Back Your Morning website and tell Seattle’s Best Coffee how you take back your morning and you just might win free coffee or something awesome like in my case I received a $1.5o off coupon!
I was excited to make my first pot of coffee!
I love that Seattle’s Best Coffee offers 5 levels. I prefer my coffee light and crisp and was so happy with my #1 selection!
So I made it up before the kids and even enjoyed my coffee as I stared out into the back yard flowers. Well, so they are Dandelions, but I think they’re pretty! 😉 My little guy came and found me not too long after. I’ll have to work on getting up a little earlier, but actually I sure enjoyed my morning hug!
You can follow Seattle’s Best Coffee on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with their latest promotions!

Thanks for the visit to my blog today 🙂 Love your photos of the kids in the blue flowers…so pretty. I enjoy my coffe too, I sometimes wonder if I rely on it too much…hmmm
My oldest is a total morning person, and I work SO hard to get up before him because otherwise the whole day gets off on the wrong foot.
Great post – I love the level options as well. Laughing – is that a photo of you in a cup of coffee at Blissdom? 🙂
Yes! That’s me at Blissdom–so fun!
Terrific post! I love their levels of coffee too! Something for everyone:)
This is my favorite coffee
Esther,
I love coffee; and especially started drinking it even more after I eschewed it during my pregnancy. I even drink it at night:)
Estelle
YUM!! I’m drinking my coffee right now!! 🙂
Hubs is the coffee drinker in our house. Seattle’s Best is one of the brands he calls “Weekend Coffee”- not just for the weekday grind, but for an extra nice cup to relax on the weekends! 😉
