You can’t take the kids to the Riverwalk and not eat at the Rainforest Cafe can you? After spending the day at the San Antonio Children’s Museum, we met up with Jason who had also just concluded his work downtown and we walked to the Rainforest Cafe. On a Monday night the Riverwalk and the restaurant were not crowded for which we were thankful.
I will apologize in advance for my photography. I know it will hurt some of your eyes! 🙂 I didn’t have my real camera with me and was taking photos on my phone that was blinking it was so low on battery, so I was happy to get any shots and called it good, even though…”good” might not be the right word exactly. He.
I just really, really love fun restaurants! Good food and a theme just makes me happy. The kids were dying to go, and I was happy to take them.
At first they said this location wasn’t as good as “our” location in Grapevine, TX, but when they had a chance to explore they realized this location has three levels! They changed their mind and said it was as good. For them, I think more than the food, is just the fun of eating there and seeing all the fun animals and lights and hearing the animal sounds.
I used to love and always purchase the Lettuce Wraps when I went to the Rainforest Cafe, but since they were discontinued I hadn’t found that awesome dish that I look forward to until this time. I ordered the China Island Chicken Salad and loved it. I preferred it with quite a bit more dressing. I’m sure that adds incredibly to the calorie count, but delicious it was!
My husband ordered the Blackened Fish Tacos and he really liked them. I’m never quite sure about ordering fish as I don’t like a super fishy flavor, but I really liked them too. Both are great choices!
What an exciting end to a very fun day. We walked around the Riverwalk for a little while and then left to find our hotel as we moved since the next night was part of my husband’s business trip and covered by his employer.
What is your favorite thing to order at the Rainforest Cafe? What is your favorite location?

Last time I went to the Rainforest Cafe, I was in Grapevine Mills, Texas. It’s like a theme park in there! Wish there was one here in Washington state.
The Grapvine location is in our back yard. Let me know if you come again! 🙂
