Our family was provided tickets to enjoy the Plano Balloon Festival in Plano, Texas. All opinions are my own.
The Plano Balloon Festival is a HUGE event in the metroplex! This year’s festival is less than two months away and with all the craziness of the beginning of the school year, now is a great time to plan!
This year will make it 38 years of Ballooning in Plano, Texas! This fun filled three-day event begins at 4:00pm Friday, September 22nd at Oak Point Park, 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074.
It’s non-stop fun for the whole family! Bring a blanket or lawn chair and be entertained on the FOX 4 community stage and KLUV main stage, and it’s also a great way to enjoy the Saturday evening fireworks show!
There are lots of kids activities, but my crew absolutely loved checking out the vendors. Each booth had something fun and by the end of the night I had a backpack full of complimentary treats and prizes won.
In fact we went to the festival planning on feasting on some of the fun festival foods, but the family was already so full from snacking on all of their prizes! My penny pincher husband was thrilled about that. Me? I wanted to go back and try all the food! Ha ha!
The balloons this year will launch Friday at 6:00pm, Saturday at 7:00am and 6:00pm, and Sunday at 7:00am and 6:00pm (weather permitting).
Weather did prove to be a factor on our festival day so check the weather before you head out. With high winds and a potential storm, we didn’t get to see the launch but we absolutely loved the balloon glow, so pretty!
This year the festival will be offering tethered balloon rides. So you and or your children can fly high up in the sky in an amazing hot air balloon with the added safety of being tethered to the ground. What a blast! Sign me up!
Plano Balloon Festival is a great family outing you won’t want to miss. Plan now! Need more information on what to do in Plano? Check out VisitPlano for the best food, fun, and accommodations in the area!
