This post is written by me on behalf of Nature Valley. All opinions are entirely my own.
When we moved to the Rio Grande Valley I remember searching online for things to do with kids. One of the first things that came up was the McAllen Public Library. I scratched my head. Visiting a library didn’t seem that exciting.
But after taking a trip, there I can see why people are drawn to the McAllen Public Library. It’s beautiful!
It is also HUGE! We’ve been many times now, and I still find myself asking where things are. The children’s section alone is bigger than some libraries I’ve been to. There is a separate teen room where kids hang out with a place to watch movies. The photo above is only part of the adult section of the library. It’s incredible. I get a work out just trying to find a book or movie to check out!
No matter that we were on fall break. Joy wanted to do some research on a paper she is writing. After my list of errands we headed to the library. We had only begun to find books for her paper when she exclaimed, “Mom, my stomach hurts. I can’t read this right now. I have to eat.” I was feeling the exact same way. As often happens on errand days, things had gotten much later than I anticipated, and when I looked at my watch it was (gasp) two o’clock in the afternoon, and we had missed lunch altogether. “Let’s just go home,” she said.
And that’s when I remembered I had stocked my purse with some Nature Valley Biscuits with Coconut Butter for just this kind of occasion.
We didn’t have to rush home. We didn’t have to grab take out. We just found a table and enjoyed a delicious snack while going through the books we had chosen. Oh my goodness. Five minutes and we both felt good again. We were able to finish our adventure with regained energy before heading home. Whew!
Have you tried the new Nature Valley Biscuits or Nature Valley Cups? I found them at Walmart in the breakfast/cereal aisle. I am on a mission to try them all! So far we’ve tried the Nature Valley Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Almond Butter Cups. Both were a huge hit! I’m an almond lover, my kids prefer peanut butter. Next on my list to try is the Almond Butter Double Chocolate–Wow!
And now we have the Nature Valley Biscuits with Coconut Butter too! Coconut Butter Biscuit Sandwiches are made with two whole grain toasted coconut biscuits sandwiched with a creamy coconut butter filling. Oh they just melt in your mouth! So, so good! If you love coconut these are a must try! The biscuits also come in Almond Butter and Cocoa Almond Butter. I can’t wait to try these too!
We have a stash at home where I keep snacks for on-the-go or quick breakfasts. I’m so glad I remembered to put a few in my purse. Nature Valley Biscuits saved the day!
