I am so excited about my new table. When I began blogging almost five years ago, it was my intention to start a business. First and foremost I wanted to be able to take my family on a yearly vacation, which, thank the Lord, is a dream I have realized! Then should funds ever be plentiful enough, I wanted to be able to fix up the house a little.
Buying things like furniture, curtains, and wall decorations have never been a priority for my husband. I didn’t grow up with all the finest things around the home. We made due with what we had, so I was used to that. Then moving around so much after Jason and I were first married, it was certainly expensive to fix up a different house every couple of years. By the time we moved here, I figured why bother? My husband didn’t want me to spend the money (and actually we didn’t have enough anyway) so I didn’t do much to the house. In fact, I think it’s pretty funny, when people come by they always look around and ask, “How long have you lived here?” because it looks like we might have just moved in.
I have, for the most part, become accustomed to the bare walls and rooms devoid of the proper furniture, but there was one thing that drove me crazy.
My table and chairs. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the table that I purchased before I met my husband. It had been my table ever since. It came with four chairs and as our family grew we added card table chairs. Then my antique chair, which eventually got broken. I hated having a hodge podge of tacky chairs around my table in the main part of the house.
When I saw this table and chairs at the store recently, I loved it instantly. The best part was that it seats eight and is enough for our entire family to sit together in matching chairs! We looked at the table and talked about it, but didn’t do anything. The next week we went back to the store, and it was $200 cheaper! It was a great deal, and we took it home. I am so happy and thankful to have a new table and also thankful for the gift of being able to blog as a way to bless my family.
Now that I have a table maybe I can work on curtains. ๐

Beautiful table!
It’s a very pretty table. That’s the first thing I noticed – that it seats 8. Our kitchen table only sits 4, so the rare times my husband is home for dinner, he can’t sit with us. That’s great that when you went to buy it, it was $200 cheaper. Good deal!
The table is lovely! Now, you can spend the next few years saving up for a table that seats all the sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren that you’re going to host on future holidays ๐
I love it. And what a blessing that it was $200 cheaper. It pays to wait.
(Curtains aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, by the way ๐ )
