10 Reasons to visit Moody Gardens this summer! Follow the link to catch the first five!
6. Aquarium Pyramid. Explore ocean life in a 1.5-million-gallon aquarium featuring penguins, seals, stingrays, sharks and many, many more! I love aquariums where you can be under the fish and have them swimming all around you. this is so cool!
This little fish seemed to just sit there and look right at me. I kinda fell in love with him.
The sea turtles are so interactive. I look for them. I think they know adoration when they see it because they always come out to play for us.
What’s even better than seeing the sea life? Touching them of course. My children always have to get in and touch the starfish. So cool!
And for my embarrassing moment of the day, the kids, walking over to the turtle station asked, “Mom is it real?”
“Oh yes,” I proclaimed, “be careful!” It was in fact NOT a real turtle. The ladies working the station were really professional and handled it beautifully, but I saw the twinkle in their eyes. They wanted to laugh as hard as I did! 🙂
The aquarium at Moody Gardens is really great. We kind of sped through it as we were trying to get through all the attractions in one day. We could have spent much more time here.
7. Colonel Paddlewheel Boat–When you’re getting tired from all the walking take a little day cruise! Live the high-life on an hour long cruise aboard a replica of an 1800s paddlewheel boat.
My first time aboard the Colonel we sat up at the top and let the wind blow our hair. This time we went for and air conditioned cruise over drinks and beautiful scenery from the windows.
