Mexican Themed Family Meal 2011

It is my tradition to have a Mexican Meal for my family on cinco de mayo.  My plans last year were sabotaged, but I promised my family that we would still have our Mexican meal on a different day.  But with pregnancy, summer fun, and travels it just never got done.  My kids didn’t let me forget; however, every week or so I would hear the question, “When are we going to have our Mexican Party?”  So finally, a little late, we celebrated my Mexican/American heritage!

The menu:

Pork tacos

Refried Beans

Mexican Rice

Homemade Salsa and Chips

Guacamole

Mangoes (with lime and cayenne)

Sangria Senorial

and…

Tres Leches Cake

I’m linking up with Raising Homemakers.

Happy birthday, Esther! I tried to post something about it on blog frog yesterday, but it wouldn’t let me log in. I can’t believe you’re 40. I guess I thought you were a year younger – although no way would I guess you were a day older than I am (I’m 27 – forever.).
Have a very fun day. I hope you came up with something special to do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Esther. Don’t groan, but you will always be our baby! I wish I could try your tres leches cake. It looks delicious, as does everything else on your table.

Well, then, Happy Birthday…mine’s coming up, too, and I’ve been pondering the leap from 30 into the 30something years. You look fun and lovely…you must have miscounted your age…just like me!

Happy Birthday! I’m due to hit 40 this year too. Do you feel like you’re 40? I was always “x”…going on 50, so I guess I’m still pretty young.

Have a great day, and may this year be full of blessings and good things!

Great post and Happy {belated} Birthday!! The cake looks intriguing — might have to try it and adapt it to be gluten free. Love the pinata as well!

Thanks so much for linking up with friday favorites.

    Blessings,

    Rachel
