I was so excited to meet a reader of my blog for the very first time! Other than family, friends, and fellow bloggers I had never met anyone that reads my blog. When I posted on my the site that I would be going to Teaching Them Diligently, Julie commented that she would be going to. I emailed her and made plans to meet her! What fun!
As it turns out, it’s a very small world. I suppose we all knew that already, but it was fun to learn of connections that we have. After reading my blog for a while Julie wondered if we were related to some of the Irishes that she knows from Nebraska and of course we are! Julie knows my sister-in-law’s family, and we have many mutual friends of the family.
I felt like a school girl texting Julie at the conference and telling her where I was. I wasn’t nervous, just excited. It is a little strange though to meet someone who already knows so much about me. “What will I seem like in person to someone who has read my thoughts?” is something I have wondered. I imagine I must come across as more of an extrovert on my site than I do in person. I try to give a complete picture of our lives, but how I see things might not be how other people do. It’s fun to ponder!
Another thing I wonder is how people find my site. Julie said she found Laugh With Us Blog through the Homeschool Post’s award page when we won the Funniest Homeschool Blog award. She said, “I figured, ‘I like to laugh,'” and checked out my website. I’m so glad she did!
Thank you, Julie, for meeting with me. You made my day!

It was so good meeting your family too!
How fun to meet one of your readers!
There’s a little risk in meeting blog friends — but I’ve found it’s so rewarding. 🙂
