Make Breakfast Happen

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Albertsons Companies & Hunger Is. The opinions and text are all mine.make-breakfast-happen-hungeris-ad

Over the summer I had the opportunity to take my family on a mission trip to the Navajo reservation. One of the things that stood out to us was how hungry the children were when they arrived. We were already providing snacks and lunch, but after the first day breakfast was also provided for the children. It made such a difference! Kids need to be nourished if they are going to learn.

We don’t always have the time and resources to go on a mission trip and help in person, but there are so many ways we can make a difference from home like Hunger Is at Albertsons. Hunger Is is a joint charitable program of the Albertsons Companies Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). It is designed to build awareness and raise funds in an effort to eradicate childhood hunger in America.

We think of childhood hunger in other places, not America, but did you know 3 out of 5 K-8 public school teachers report regularly seeing students coming to school hungry? How can children learn if they are hungry? In Partnership with Albertsons, Hunger Is is focusing on expanding breakfast programs, providing children with healthy start to their day. The mission is to: Make Breakfast Happen So Kids Can Be Hungry For More.

How can you make a difference? By shopping at Alberstons and purchasing so many things that you would ordinarily buy anyway.

Or hey, a little extra indulgence for a good cause right?  🙂 Just look for the Hunger Is signs throughout the store to find participating brands and items.

The graphic above features all the participating brands. So many things you need anyway right? In September 2016 every purchase of a participating item will trigger at least $0.10 donation up to $1 million!

Want to give more? You can also donate at the register – shoppers can add a $1, $3, or $5, or any $ amount to their purchase.

My girlie had so much fun shopping with me and especially picking out participating Hunger Is items. It’s so fun to give back in this easy, simple way. Make a difference!

We had an Albertsons once but don’t now. Glad you wrote about it. It’s a good cause!
