Years ago when browsing Restaurant.com I found Magic Time Machine Restaurant in Dallas. I have always wanted to go and try it, but my husband wasn’t interested, and we had never heard anyone mention going so we never went. When we first drove to our hotel in San Antonio I noticed that the Magic Time Machine was nearby and insisted we go. I’m so glad I did. This is the kids’ favorite memory of our trip to San Antonio.
We were transported to Mexico in our time machine, and I thought that was very appropriate! I thought the photographer onsite did an excellent job of capturing a family photo. If I had known I might not have warn a t-shirt, but since our day consisted of caverns and wild animals I thought a t-shirt would be appropriate. ๐ The girls and I loved looking around to all the neat tables and places we want to be transported to next time.
After we ordered, everyone was invited to the salad car. My kids all wanted what looked to them like peanut butter cookies. They are not cookies, but homemade (I think.) cheese crackers that I thought were fantastic!
I ordered Sliced Briscket with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was all really good, but the bbq sauce was out of this world amazing. I’d go back just for the sauce!
Jason ordered the steak dinner that was on special, and he in spite of himself had to admit he liked the food. ๐ The kids ate their kids meals, but if I get to go again and can afford to splurge I would buy the kids a magic potion. They come in various colors and I just thought they would be some kind of Koolaid drink.
Just for fun our server brought us his own magic potion, but the drinks would have been smokey like this.
How much fun the kids had with that. They had all been tired from a long, fun day, but this brightened them all up.
Little Bobby wasn’t quite too sure about it though. I suppose it would be quite scarey at that age. He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t drink it either.
When we had finished eating our server brought the kids a smokey, over flowing cup of soap to wash their hands. The kids thought this was the most fun ever, and I had to agree. What I want to know is why aren’t more people talking about Magic Time Machine Restaurant? We are telling everyone we know; this is a super fun, excellent place to eat. You have to go. Now that I’m home I want to visit the Dallas location!

What a cool place to go and eat! I especially think my kids would love that drink with the smoke coming out of it. The food looks good, too.
This looks like such a fun family restaurant! I’ve never heard of it before but now I’m looking forward to visiting. ๐
Thank you for sharing!
It is without a doubt one of our favorite memories of that trip. So fun!
