My mom had a wonderful idea, that I think would be great for lots of moms and grandparents, when we stayed at her home. She had just gotten home from a long trip and was very tired and didn’t feel up to putting all the Christmas decor up. Also when I talked to her I reminded her that Bobby is two years old, and thanks to him we have broken more Christmas ornaments than ever before. How about let the kids decorate the tree? I thought it was a wonderful idea. The girls were instantly excited about it. It also gave them something to do at Grandma’s house.
I took a box of craft items to my moms house when we went including markers, crayons, glue sticks, tape, stapler, kid scissors, plain paper, construction paper, hole punch, yarn, glitter, and what ever other little craft supplies we had that we thought would make great Christmas ornaments. The girls worked at the table for about three hours. Faith and Grace worked on individual ornaments while Joy made a long chain.
Joy was so proud of her accomplishment!
The tree looked really pretty and the girls were so proud.
This was so much fun for everyone. The girls are old enough that they all had their own ideas about how they were going to decorate the tree. So my mom and I were able to just sit and visit while they worked.

Wow!!! That IS very pretty! Great job!!!
One of the best Chrisrmases ever. I kept most of the ornaments. Wonderful memories! Wish these sweet kids didnt live so far away.
