Coffee and I go way back. Would you believe I drank it in my bottle when I was toddler? ‘Tis true! In Mexico, when I was little, cafe con leche was very common. It is warm milk with a little instant coffee granules and sugar. I felt very grown up drinking coffee from my bottle! That’s how I love my coffee–with milk and sugar.
I remember my mother making iced coffee for me from her left over coffee when I was a bit older. Maybe it’s these memories that make me feel like the day is extra special when I am sipping an iced coffee.
A few months ago was when I first saw International Delight Iced Coffee in the refrigerator section of my grocery store. I stopped. I stared. I wanted to take some home, every flavor. But as you know I had been trying to lose those last extra pounds I gained when pregnant with my fifth child. So time after time I resisted. When I saw that International Delight now had Light Iced Coffee, I jumped in line and begged and pleaded to be one of the first to try it!
Two containers arrived on my doorstep packed in ice. Mocha and Vanilla–I wondered which one I would like the best.
The new International Delight Light Iced Coffee contains only 100 calories per serving. That’s 1/3 fewer calories than their regular iced coffee! It is the perfect blend of sweetness, and is not bitter!
I could not decide which flavor I liked the best. I fully expected to prefer the vanilla, because I usually do, but I liked the mocha flavor just as much! My family loves it too. My husband poured himself three glasses tonight! I’m going to have to figure out how to hide it in the fridge!
Ahh! It’s Iced Coffee and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
International Delight Light Iced Coffee will be available at Walmart beginning on January 21st.

I certainly don’t remember giving you coffee in your bottle, but I’m not shocked. You had your bottle until you were 3, which all the kids we knew did in Mexico, and probably other people put some coffee in your milk. Very interesting!
So glad that you like it and YES, you should totally hide the carton in the refrigerator. At least until after January 21 when you can buy some more. 😉
I love iced coffee too!
I can’t believe you were drinking coffee at the age of three. I don’t think I got my first drink of coffee until I was at least 6 — and even then I think they served me Postum and told me it was coffee!
You are so lucky! No store around me sells the light version yet! Oh the horror of having to wait!
