How to stop a baby from crying

Works.  Every.  Time!  Bobby has  been extra fussy and pulling on his ear.  I told Joy that I couldn’t get him to stop crying.  “Oh I know how.  This always works.”  Sure enough it did!  Bobby would stop crying and just stare at her.  It cracked me up!  And when that got old…

“Look.  I’m a bird!”  She does look like a bird.  Don’t you think?  I’m going to try to get Bobby  in to see the doctor this morning.  He’s usually such a little happy thing.  I just hate to see him miserable.

What is your no fail tip to get a baby to stop crying?

Esther

Too cute ๐Ÿ™‚ One more thought….I’ve yet to see a baby that this doesn’t work on….you lay them on their back and grab their ankles. You then gently ‘run’ their legs back and forth and say “Run, Run, Run,……”. Works every time!!!

I usually make really silly noises to my daughter when she starts! The other day I sang her favourite song, The rainbow song, to her in a very funny high pitched voice and she was in hysterics and totally forgot why she was crying in the first place!!!

Isn’t it great he has so many playmates?

I can’t say I have a fail-proof method for getting babies to stop crying, unless it’s the grown-up version of “Hot Potato,” as in: “X, can you take the baby and get him to stop crying?”

(X has no luck, passes the baby on to a sibling, saying,”You take him. Maybe you can get him to stop crying.”

Sometimes it does work, but that could be because with all the passing they’ve forgotten what it was they wanted in the first place…

Oh, I find that when they look at me they start crying… My failsafe way is to stay as far away from them as possible.

We used to turn Ellie upside down! Worked every time, though we got strange looks when we walked around with an upside down, laughing baby!

I sing softly in their ears, and sometimes really loud to distract them, it depends on the kind of cry, it always does it.

She’s so smart, she amazes me. Did it turn out to be an ear infection?

The doctor said his ears look perfect, but he does have a cold. Oh well! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for asking!

What a sweet sister to try and cheer up the baby. I certainly hope that my daughter will do the same when her siblings come.

It’s so funny how babies just love other little children! My ten year old brother is my little guy’s favorite person in the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

My second son always got his younger siblings to cheer up by making faces and being goofy. I think it’s a gift…

LOL- How funny! Looks like I’m gonna have to start trying for a second baby… Or I suppose I could be the bird.
