Horn T Zoo Monroe, Nebraska

Horn T Zoo Monroe NEOn our crash road trip to Nebraska for a funeral we did get in a little sight seeing.  I have wanted to visit Horn T Zoo in Monroe, Nebraska since I first heard of it.

LaughWithUsBlog meets Horn T ZooA zoo that started in someone’s back yard with all kinds of exotic animals?  I was all in!

Horn T Zoo Baby MonkeyThe man who started the zoo was a kindergarten student of my mother-in-law!  And here he is with his baby monkey.  This little guy was so cute, made you want to just sneak him in your purse and take him home.

Horn T Zoo Baby KangarooBut then there was this little kangaroo already in a purse and just ready for me to grab and go!  Ha!  While we weren’t allowed to touch the monkey, the baby kangaroo loved to be petted.  I was amazed at how he never, ever leaves the purse.

Horn T Zoo Hayrack RideOn Saturdays in October Horn T Zoo is offering hayrack rides over to their pumpkin patch.  You can tell by our clothes we were no longer in Texas.  Brrr.  It was cold out there!

Horn T Zoo Pumpkin pickingIncluded in the price of the zoo was the hay ride and choosing a pumpkin.  The kids had a blast picking the perfect pumpkin.  After riding back to the barn there was a table set up so that the kids could paint their pumpkins. If only we could have brought them all home.  We were just packed too tight in the RAV4.

Horn T Zoo Talking BirdThis Australian Cockatoo was one of my favorite animals.  He would dance and say, “Hi!”  Loved the interaction!

Horn T Zoo KangaroosSo many unique and interesting animals!

Horn T Zoo Guinea PigJoy’s favorite thing was holding the Guinea Pigs.  They begged me to bring one home.  I had to think about that one for a long time…NOT!  🙂  But I was so happy she got to hold them here!

Horn T Zoo CamelOutside were lots more animals.  How much fun we had petting the camel!  He is so friendly!

Horn T Zoo ZebrasThis pair of zebras were expecting a baby!

Horn T Zoo TurtleThe turtle was huge!

These were just a few of the array of exotic animals to see at Horn T Zoo.  There were also lemurs, big cats, monkeys, birds, porcupines and so much more.  The staff/owners were more than happy to answer all of our questions.  I learned so much.

Horn T Zoo is open Saturdays and is $10 per person.  Check their Facebook page fore details.  Saturdays in October bounce house, huge slide, and concession stand is also available for an extra fee.
