Fifteen years! When I want to scream, “Not possible!” I look again at the sweet, responsible girl before my eyes. How proud I am of the young lady she is becoming. All of my kids can draw, thanks to Faith. When she was about nine she decided she wanted to learn to draw. Inspired by friends, a quick tutorial at a library event, and a book on how to draw, she taught herself. She has continued to hone her art by classes and learning from books, but what I love is that she has sweetly, patiently taught all her siblings to draw. Whenever they have a question they go to Faith. Many evenings I will find several of the kids sitting around Faith’s room in a circle drawing and creating. I love it!
For Faith’s birthday she asked for two things. A trip to Six Flags with friends was one. It was a wicked hot day, but I think everyone had a blast.
The other request was a Mexican dinner. How we love our Mexican food, but this is…uh…a yummy Tex-Mex concoction. In case you think I don’t know the difference. ๐ She had:
Usually when we have our Mexican Dinners for special occasions I like to buy the single serve Sangria Senorial bottles for each person. All my years in Mexico whenever soft drinks were served it was this way, and I just love drinking out of a glass bottle. This year I went with economy and purchased the two liter bottle. I was so disappointed! It did not taste the same at all. It’s more expensive to buy individual glass bottles but so worth it!
And so this happened. Complete with 15 candles and everything. How I love this girl who has become my right hand. I have no idea what I would do without her!

All these family pics and no you… How come you never jump in with them?
I KNOW! I always say I’m going to get better at that. It’s so much easy to snap the photos and move on. ๐
What a lovely daughter you have! I know how proud you must be.
Thank you! ๐
What a beautiful family. So nice to see young people with large families nowadays. I myself was a SAHM with 5 children, hubby, me, grandpa and the dog….Now they are all and just when I began to miss the whole crowd – they gave me 9 grandchildren…..still a hectic time at the old homestead….love it.
