Faith’s birthday fell on a Saturday this year and she wanted to go to Six Flags for the day. Since we are season pass holders that was perfect. Though the kids and I have been many times, it’s a special treat to get to go with Daddy! We arrived at the park about 30 minutes before it opened and waited in line. As soon as we were allowed in we ran to the first roller coaster, Pandemonium, that usually has a long wait. It was a very hot July day. All of a sudden I noticed Faith didn’t look right. “Are you okay?” I asked. She shook her head no.
And then when we were literally next in line for the roller coaster she threw up. Poor thing! We found a place to sit and get a drink. I wondered if it was just the heat and the fact that she had forgotten to eat breakfast, but a half hour later she still felt bad and was ready to go home.
On the way home we stopped by the library and rented a few movies that she had been wanting to see. It may not be a theme park, but a family movie day would be fun anyway. I think it really was just the heat that made her sick that morning, because a couple of hours later she felt fine.
We took her to McDonald’s for a salad–what she wanted. Usually I order a salad for me and get all the kids burgers or nuggets. I think she was sending me a message!
Then for dessert she wanted frozen yogurt. Jason started this and now Yogurt Story is one of our favorite places to go for a special treat.
Faith turned 14 this past summer! Fourteen just does not even sound real. It has been so fun to see this girl grow up. No longer is she a little girl. It really just seems like it happened overnight. One day she was my little girl the next she wasn’t.
She is such a huge help around the house and with the other children. I love that she can babysit for me now on occasion. She has fully taken responsibility of her school work and studies really hard. Faith is such a sweet precious girl. She cares about doing what is right and pleasing those around her. What a joy she is! Happy 14 Birthday Faith!

Happy Birthday to Faith! I’m sorry she started out sick on her special day, but glad that it was over quick. That yogurt looks delicious.
