And just like that we have two teenagers in the house. I am loving it! This old mama needs all the help she can get. 🙂
Joy spent hours making individual cards to welcome all of her guests. She went with a Beauty and the Beast theme.
Her Aunt Sara outdid herself again on this gorgeous Barbie cake. Not only is it beautiful, but her cakes taste amazing too! It’s any Barbie loving girl’s dream cake. Maybe I’ll try to steal her secrets!
Egg Salad Sandwiches–that’s what she wanted for her birthday meal. She keeps telling me I need to put this recipe on my blog. It’s the most simple old fashioned recipe, and one that I just dump, but I’ll have to take the time and calculate measurements. Joy loves these sandwiches so much though, that I’ve taught her my dump method, and she makes them too. Joy loves simple foods. I’ve always said she’s not my foodie, but her tastes have grown. I used to tease her that the only foods she liked were pizza and chicken nuggets.
We are loving getting to spend special days and holidays with our extended family. I’ve always wanted to be able to have people over more often, and I’m getting my wish!
It is our tradition to go around and say something we appreciate about the person with a birthday, and we did it even with family and friends over.
Joy does everything with her whole being. She is creative, passionate, giving, and just a whole lot of fun to be around. If the house is being turned upside down, she is usually at the center of it. Our lives would be so much more dull without our Joy. We are so thankful for her and love her so much!
