Some friends invited our older two girls to the Flying G Ranch in Waxahachie, Texas for their daughter’s birthday party. Since the party was an hour’s drive from our house, the couple graciously invited our family to stay for the festivities. Though my six and four year old children were prepared that only the older girls would be allowed to go on the trail ride, unexpectedly one of the riders felt too much anxiety decided against riding. Since the trail ride had for that child had already been paid for, the ranch hand graciously offered to let my two younger kids ride in the corral. They were thrilled!
Little Jason out of all my children has been the one most afraid of rides. When I took him to the indoor Safari park he wouldn’t ride the mechanical animal rides, at Six Flags he was scared to death of the kiddie roller coasters.
So I was a little surprised at how he went right up there and loved every minute of his ride. Grandpa Hal would have been proud!
Grace also loved her ride, but then again she is my fearless one. This child makes me nervous!
Joy and Faith went on a trail ride that was at least 30 minutes long or so. They could not stop talking about it!
After the trail ride and a hay ride the kids had a blast in the party room as they enjoyed pizza, cake, and games. What a fun evening!
I was so impressed with the ranch! I have heard wonderful reviews from multiple friends who have taken there children here. Flying G Ranch offers Saturday ranch days from 10 am to 4 pm for ages 8-16 for only $35! I would love to take my girls back soon for a whole day of horsemanship training and fun.
*I was in no way compensated by Flying G Ranch. I just think it is an awesome place and wanted to share it with you.

Yeah I am with your youngest one on riding things. Not a fan of roller coasters or even real horses. But I do love horses, just not with me on their back lol.
