My four-year-old Little Jason loves flowers, and he loves to bring me flowers. Almost daily he’ll go outside and find the best wild flower in the yard and come back inside and give it to me. The other day, however, he came in with a flower, walked right by me, and walked up to his daddy. Jason was busy making a smoothie and didn’t notice Little Jason tapping on his pant leg. “Here, Daddy, I got this for you,” he repeated several times.
Finally, Jason looked down and blurted, “I don’t want that!”
“Jason!” I called to him jerking my head in the direction of the flower.
“Ohhh, why yes thank you Little Jason!” he recovered.
My son, completely satisfied, went happily back outside.
“Can I throw it away?” whispered my husband.
