Father/Daughter Camp Out

One of the things I really appreciate about the AWANA Truth and Training club at our church is the opportunity to do special things with our kids.  My husband is not into camping at all, but when it’s all organized and all he has to do is go, it’s a great time with his little girl.

They have gone every year…and slept in the car.  He is not interested in the whole tent experience and Faith is quite happy not to sleep on the ground so it’s worked out pretty well.  I would love to take the kids cabin camping.  I think I would enjoy the great out doors a little more with a good night sleep and a real bathroom!

He added fun to the drive by stopping for a frozen coffee at a gas station.  In fact that was the first thing that Faith told me they did when they got home!

I’m linked with Women Living Well.

What a great experience! Faith will always remember camping with her Daddy. 🙂

    Wow. That is so special.
When we’d go camping, I would drive all the way across the campgrounds everytime I had to use the bathroom. Because that’s where the real bathroom was. I wouldn’t have used their outhouses to save my life. ICK ICK ICK. I’m not the outdoorsy type AT ALL 🙂 Which I know surprises everyone.

As a missionaries” kid I can manage any kind of bathroom or lack thereof, but I want a door locked when I go to sleep. I guess that’s crazy. So glad Faith and her dad had a good time!

So, pleased to see Frieda well enough to be commenting here. I must admit, I’ve had my fair share of good times sleeping on the hard ground inside tents and under the stars just in a sleeping bag. But I would choose a soft bed any day now.

Looks like a wonderful daughter/daddy experience. My husband’s family has always been diehard campers. Every June we have a big four-generation family camping weekend.

I’m not sure how I came upon your blog, but I enjoy your stories. I’ve been blogging for six years, but never joined a “community”. I’m interested in how that works.

Camping in a cabin sounds good to me…

Boy, those pictures were great. You have the best Church activities. Sleeping in the car is better than sleeping on the ground. Ugh! Thanks for telling us about this. They sure look like they enjoy themselves.

We DEFINITELY enjoy the outdoors more when we’ve had a good night’s sleep in a real bed! 🙂 We used to do the tent thing, but our last few experiences didn’t go well at all, so we’ve moved on from that. We have a trailer now. Hoping to take it out a few weekends this summer!
