Faith is sixteen! After her sisters Grace and Joy had opted for an extended family celebration at home, Faith decided she wanted to do some fun things with just the seven of us.
We splurged on the “nice” theater with the “good” seats and even ordered lunch. Faith is a huge super hero fan and getting to see one of her favorite movies on the big screen was a treat–for all of us!
Besides having a great time out with the kids for Faith’s birthday what I remember from this event happened when we were leaving. Always thinking one should get their money’s worth, I filled up my enormous glass of Coke to go, full to the tippy top! Getting me and the Coke in the van ended up to pose quite the problem, and I ended up pouring the whole thing out all over my beloved van. Ha ha! Here I’m the one that won’t let the kids take Cokes in the van for fear they will spill them. 🙂
Faith had been craving a meal at the Olive Garden and so after Jason came home from work we all took Faith to get her favorite meal.
For dessert we also splurged at Orange Leaf frozen yogurt. So far in the Rio Grande Valley, this is our favorite for frozen yogurt! That was her birthday out!
It is our tradition to go around and say something we appreciate about the family member having a birthday. Faith’s siblings unanimously deem Faith the sweetest of the bunch. Her sister said, “She’s the sweetest person I know!” Now that’s always a great compliment, but coming from a sibling it’s just “Wow” in my book, and I agree! It has been such a pleasure to watch Faith grow up into such a sweet, responsible, caring young lady, but don’t let that quiet exterior deceive you. She is highly competitive and so much fun to play games with. How I love this dear girl!
