Oh how I love my slow cooker. I actually received 5 slow cookers for wedding presents and kept all of them. I figured I’d be using them sooner or later. I loved having three different sizes and sure enough a couple of years ago one of mine finally broke. No problem! I went to the garage and opened my wedding present. What I didn’t figure was that the colors and style would go out of style, but hey it works like a charm. Yea me! 🙂
I have a funny relationship with meat. I love it if it’s made right, but if it’s not perfect then no thank you. When it comes to ribs they need to be perfectly fall off the bone tender. I love this recipe because it always comes out perfect! Here is a favorite slow cooked to perfection Smokey Barbecue Ribs recipe:
What you need:
- 3/12 pounds pork loin baby back ribs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 3 tablespoons liquid smoke
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Coke
- 1 1/2 cups KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce
You will need to cut your baby back ribs into single size portions of between 4-6 inches. Did you know you can ask the butcher in the meat department of your grocery store to cut any meat for you to meet the specifications for your recipes? This saves to much time, and they have always been happy to help.
In a medium size bowl mix together the brown sugar, pepper, liquid smoke, garlic, and salt. Rub the mixture into each section of ribs and then layer the ribs and onion slices in a greased 4 qt slow cooker.
Pour Coke over the ribs and cook on low 8-9 hours or 4 1/2 hours on high. Remove the meat from the slow cooker and discard all the liquid.
Pour 1 1/2 cups of KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce into a medium bowl. Dip ribs into the sauce and then place them back in the slow cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs. Cook on low for an additional hour.
KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce is loaded with molasses, onions and spices. It was originally created by Dr. Rich Davis, who was a physician and lover of barbecue, in Kansas City in 1978. It’s the perfect choice for my fall ribs recipe. It’s still the number one selling sauce in KC today! It is the perfect choice for my fall barbecue dishes!
Mmm after being slow cooked all day long these tasty ribs are so tender and delicious. The whole family loved them!
A quick baked potato and salad makes this a quick meal to throw together in the evening. Jason loves to come home to a meal like this, and I love to make him happy!
