The girls have really gotten into the Christmas spirit and are aching to decorate. Now, I agree it’s high time, but I do have a few excuses. You see we came home from our Thanksgiving trip with the stomach flu. We’ve now had three down for the count! It’s kind of hard to get into full decorating mode in the midst of sickness, but after the kids worked so hard the other night on their own Christmas craft I wanted to encourage them. I’m a great facilitator!
The kids and I looked together for a craft that they could make on their own with just the stuff in their craft box and they were so excited when they found this Christmas Tree craft idea.
They got busy first drawing their tree and then cutting it out.
Once the tree was cut out it was easy to punch holes through both sides with the tree still folded.
One of the kids cut up little squares of tissue paper for the lights.
Then they got busy taping the tissue paper to cover the holes. Between the four kids they made three trees one for my window and one for each of the girls’ rooms.
I love the way it looks in my window!
This was such a fun easy craft and the kids and hey, you don’t even have to be a crafty mom! ๐

I hated the new windows at first, but it’s growing on me. I wanted to tell you – you should make melting snowman cookies with your kiddos! My husband didn’t grow up celebrating Christmas so last year we finally started some traditions and making those cookies is one of them. They’re adorable and fun to make and each person/child can make their snowman look however they want! My husband was thirty the first time he made one and thought it was super fun! LOL Search it! ๐
Oh, that craft looks easy and fun! I didn’t know about Bing Smart Search. I’ll have to check it out.
I love that tree! We’re going to have to make a few at my house. & with Smart Search i can get more ideas.
Cute craft idea. I love the stained glass effect and that you hung it in the window.
what a great craft project
What a great idea! I love that it’s something easy for anyone to do. I am not crafty at all, and I know I could still do this with my little cousins. The tree craft looks great in the window or as an ornament! ๐
Very cute! I might even be able to do that and I’m not crafty at all- the kiddos would love it!
Nice match of Tech and traditional Christmas crafting. Also love that you got some adorable window decorations out of it
Beautiful and easy to do!! I’ll have to save this for my son to make!! A snowflake would look great, too!
How gorgeous! I am going to steal this idea and use it to do with the kiddo ๐ I had this on my mind some days back when I did see something similar with foam sheets on Pinterest; but I can’t find it now ๐
I love that this is a easier version ๐
