This last week has been one of sickness at our house. Beginning on Tuesday when the stomach flu began. By yesterday afternoon I still had kids throwing up so Jason and I decided to keep our family home this morning. When I told Faith, my oldest, that we were all too sick for me to make our traditional Easter meal, she started crying. Only promises that I would make it on a different day pacified her. (I had to make the same promise to my husband!) I guess they do notice the work I do…when it doesn’t happen anyway!
I did want today to be special though so last night the girls helped me make Resurrection Rolls. We have never had them before so they didn’t know ahead of time what would happen, but they had fun rolling the dough around the marshmallow!
This morning it was so fun giving each of them their roll for breakfast and watching their face as the realized the marshmallow they put in the rolls was gone. I loved explaining to them that is why they are called resurrection rolls. Just like the tomb was empty because Jesus rose from the grave so our rolls are empty. He is Risen! Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter, Esther. 🙂
Sorry to hear your kiddos are still sick. We missed church this morning too, Ainsley might have pink eye 🙁 The Resurrection rolls are so neat! I hope you have a blessed Easter!
Sorry you guys are still sick! Hopefully you are all back on your feel again real soon! Happy Easter!
Resurrection rolls sound like a fun idea. I hope you all feel better soon!
Don’t forget to email me your address – you won my giveaway! 🙂
Amazing concept. Hope everyone is feeling a bit better!
What a great idea and memorable Easter, despite your normal tradition. 🙂
that is so cool! I bookmarked the recipe to try at a later time. They look yum, how did they turn out?
Hope everyone feels better soon. (we were sick out here for a total of three weeks)
I’m sure kids would love the idea of a disappearing marshmallow. Too cute and with a message behind it too. Hope you had a great Easter.
I never heard of resurrection rolls. You have the best ideas!
How did they turn out? The girls had so much fun making the rolls and eating them. My kids absolutely loved them! I would certainly make them again. That said, they may not be the best rolls I ever tasted. They also made a gooey mess as the marshmallows and sugar melted all over the pan, but I didn’t think that was a big deal.
We’re gluten free…
We made these last year (when we could eat gluten) and I tried this year with a gluten-free mix, but it didn’t work. Boo!
I’m going to keep working on it though!
