Daily Mom (and Dad) Moments

Mom MomentsLook at those kids!  Aren’t they just so angelic?  Use your imagination.  Okay so they just look like regular kids on movie night right?  And they were.  Yesterday afternoon we watched a movie together and then went out for tacos.  By the way, I figured out how to go out to eat more.  Fix something your husband doesn’t like.  Then the next day when he asks what you’re having for supper say, “Leftovers.”  Works every time.  😉

It was kind of one of those picturesque family times.  Notice I said, “kinda!”  But everything fell apart when we got home.  It all started with basic disobedience.  Bobby was disciplined first.  Then Jason went to discipline the next child.  While he was talking to the second child,  Bobby, our two year old, went to the refrigerator picked up Jason’s favorite Garlic and Jalapeno Stuffed Olives–the big jar that we had just purchased at Costco the day before–and chucked them across the room, on purpose!  Glass, olives, juice, everywhere.  Wow!   You know me, I found it quite humorous, but definitely didn’t let my two year old Bobby know.  I worked on cleaning up the mess while Daddy dealt with Bobby.

That’s about when we heard yelling from upstairs, “Dad, I had an accident!”  Jason cleaned up the floor upstairs while I finished the floor downstairs.  We met in the laundry room.

“Honey, you found your sense of humor yet?  ‘Cause we might be in for a long night if you haven’t,” I asked my man.  Life is a test right?

That’s when I saw it–the smile that melts my heart.  All was well again.  Well, at least all was well when we got the kids to bed…
