Daddy Daughter Dates

You know how recently I told you that I was going to start taking my kids out for dates, one child each week?  Well, it was such a good idea that my husband stole it!  Actually he had it planned for a while; it just worked out for him to take them right after I started our Mommy dates.

He gave the girls a list of verses at the beginning of the summer and told them that if they memorized the entire list, he would take each of them out for a banana split.  Oh how hard they worked to earn that special date!   The girls had fun reviewing in the evenings and were oh so excited when they finally achieved their goal.  He took Grace last and this time I remembered to send a camera with him.

I’m linked to Homemaking Link-Up.

Wow! That banana split is almost as big as she is. The look on her face says it all! Good for her daddy!

My daughter loves the special dates Daddy takes her on. He just does it every so often for no reason at all…just because he loves her. My dates always tend to be less fun…like going to the store with me, but it’s a special time anyway. 🙂

Now that’s the look of pure joy–priceless! I love that they each get an individual daddy/daughter date. 🙂

Love it! My dad and I have always had a really close relationship. Even now that I’m in college, our most favorite date is going to eat at Red Robin 🙂

What a precious memory! It’s really incredible that he is taking the time to take them out, especially since he has such a difficult work schedule.

You can see that he values being a dad-he “walks the talk.” And being involved as a dad has such a big influence on girls.

Just like everyone else has said – that’s the biggest banana split ever! (Well, to this South African, anyway)
