After my niece Andrea’s wedding we headed down south to my parent’s house. I was exhausted. That’s it. All the travel and craziness of the holidays had caught up with me. It was great to be in the country at my Mom and Dad’s house. It’s really in the city now, but when compared to living in the DFW area it still feels like the country.
I think Dad has instilled in me a love of animals. While we were home, he had several Yorkie puppies that were just the right age to play with. It was such fun for the kids to help bathe the puppies and cuddle them.
Me? I helped clean and muck out pens, but spent most of my time doctoring a little puppy that wasn’t eating. The little guy on the right we named Tiny Tim. The entire time I was there I took care of him. I fed him with a dropper every hour. All night he curled up next to my neck. I’d feed him and take him out. I didn’t actually get much sleep at Mom and Dad’s! 🙂
We were all really rooting for this little guy. Sadly, the day after I left he passed away. I’m so glad I wasn’t there. Dad said he made a little whimper, and then breathed his last. RIP little puppy.
I didn’t take many more photos while I was “home.” I have begun to feel like I’m working when I’m taking photos, and I just wanted a vacation, you know? But in between doctoring the little puppy I spent lots of time eating great Mexican food, playing games, and swapping stories with family about “the good ol’ days.”
