What he said this time

Marriage is a fun, crazy adventure, but if you don’t keep your sense of humor you’ll go nuts.  What my husband said this time… We had spent several days in the sun at water parks, theme parks, pools etc.  I was exhausted.  It seemed to me though that I was much, much more tired than… [continue reading]

If you give an engineer a vacuum…

For the first time EVER earlier this summer I left my husband home alone (Need I say more?) and took the kids on a week long getaway. What we did and where we stayed:  Lake Conroe Homeowners Sweetwater Condos Where we stayed and how to get a super deal on a condo. April Sound Country… [continue reading]

Oh the things he says…

Bobby is at an age that pretty much everything he says is just so cute or funny.  I should be writing down more of his funny kid quotes.  Here are a few I will treasure: Bobby asked me what the girls were doing.  Knowing he knew full well what I sent them to do I… [continue reading]

SeaWorld Texas

As part of the SeaWorld Texas Wildside Bloggers I was invited to AdventureConJune 26-28 in San Antonio.  Wondering what AdventureCon is?  Why it’s a blog conference at SeaWorld! Yesterday in sharing my AdventureCon experience I left off at Sea Lion High!  I can’t even tell you how excited I was to see Sea Lion High. … [continue reading]

If you give a child a balloon…

I hate balloons.  I hate, I HATE balloons.  If you give a child a balloon he might smile…for a minute.  I mean, if it’s a full minute that’s amazing, because usually within a few seconds something goes REALLY wrong.  The siblings.  Rarely are there balloons to go around for all the children so usually one… [continue reading]

Who pays for valet parking?

Parking.  Parking poses such a problem.  I think it should be against the law to charge for parking–for crying out loud. My husband avoids it at all cost.  (ha ha) He’s had me walk miles farther at nine months pregnant to save a few dollars.  Going out downtown with friends?  They’ll all have to wait… [continue reading]

They’re watching WHAT?

More from my niece Skylar Ashley flew in to stay with our children while we were to be gone on an Alaskan cruise.   She was kind enough to send me some stories to share with you.  Her first day she had quite the scare.  Day 2 she was terrorized by two small boys.  This next… [continue reading]

Another open mouth insert foot moment

I’ve been thinking about the trip I took to Peru about a year and a half ago.  How could that much time have passed?  Anyway, I always meant to share some of the funny things that happened on that trip, but never did.  I’m not sure why.  Maybe I was just so busy I forgot… [continue reading]

The babysitting issue

I’m not really sure what an “Ode” is or if my little ditty (not sure what a ditty is either) qualifies, but I like the word, “Ode.”  I sat down and wrote the above words out one day and posted it on Facebook.  I was so surprised by how many friends liked it, that I… [continue reading]

Our day at Six Flags

I’m laughing at myself and my trip to Six Flags over Texas.  You see we only live a few miles away.  Traditionally we have taken the family once a year making great use of Six Flags’ awesome Read to Succeed program.  Using the free tickets we only need to purchase one or two additional tickets,… [continue reading]
