Who’s ready for the Super Bowl? I confess at our house we are occasional football watchers. During years when our teams are doing great we vamp up our game intake. Great fans we are huh? Ha! But we are always ready for the next celebration and as for me and my kids the Super Bowl is all about the FOOD! For us it’s #DeliciousGameTime
I love to try and create new recipes. I know that celebrations and parties are usually the times people bring out their tried and true concoctions, but what’s the fun in that? Live on the edge! Well truthfully I usually do a mix of requested foods and new ones so I’m safe if my experiments don’t work out. Ha ha!
This year I began experimenting a little early. I wanted a new twist on an old stand by football party food: Nachos! And that’s how I came up with Buffalo Chicken Nugget Nachos! I also made an amazing Barbecue Chicken Nachos that I’ll also share soon! Ya just can’t get enough nachos!
What you’ll need:
- Tyson® Chicken Nuggets (about 13)
- Tortilla chips (about 5 cups)
- The tops from 3 green onions
- 1 1/2 cups Great Value Mozzarella Shredded Cheese
- 1/2 cup Gorgonzola Cheese
- 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce
I love driving to Walmart in the mornings when most people are at work or school to browse the store. Walmart has everything you need to get ready for the Super Bowl! We found fun football napkins at a great price. I love simple things that make things feel fun and festive. We used our beloved Tyson® Chicken Nuggets for this nacho recipe. Find Tyson® Chicken Nuggets in the frozen section at Walmart along with other great Tyson® varieties.
Chop the Tyson® Chicken Nuggets into small chunks at about 9 per chicken nugget and place the chopped Tyson® Chicken Nuggets in a bowl containing the 1/2 cup buffalo sauce. Let the chicken soak in the sauce for about 15 minutes.
Layer the nachos. Place the tortilla chips in a deep dish pie plate. Chips should fill 3/4 of the pie plate. Then add the marinated and chopped Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and drizzle any remaining buffalo sauce over the chips.
Finish layering the mozzarella cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, and green onions. Bake in a 350 degree F. preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Serve immediately! Oh. My. Word. Talk about delicious! If you are a buffalo lover, then you have to try these nachos. The combination of chicken, sauce, and cheeses over tortilla chips is perfect! One of the reasons I love this for the Super Bowl is that you can marinate the chicken in advance and have things ready to assemble and throw in the oven. There’s no missing the game with this recipe!
