Bok Tower Gardens National Historic Landmark

Thanks so much to Bok Tower Gardens National Historic Landmark for inviting our family to explore their extensive grounds and gardens.

Bok Tower Gardens was founded in 1921 by Edward W. Bok. His grandmother instructed him to “make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it,” and that’s exactly what he set out to do. I love that!

Bok Tower Gardens is located north of Lake Wales, Florida, which is just a short drive from LEGOLAND Florida. It consists of a 250-acre garden, the 205-foot tall Singing Tower with carillon bells, trails, children’s garden, and a visitor center.

Bok Tower Gardens adds a wonderful balance to some of the fun attractions in Florida. We absolutely loved exploring nature through the extensive trails. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We always wondered what we would come upon next.

And then there she was in all her glory, The Singing Tower. Yes, singing, the tower actually does serenade twice a day with her carillon bells.

One of my favorite finds as we circled around the trails were these giant lily pads. Aren’t they gorgeous? There is beauty in nature to discover around every bend.

The kids’ favorite part was hands down the Hammock Hollow Children’s Gardens. I have never seen such extensive children’s gardens. It is definitely a kid’s dream land. There is so much to explore all through nature with kids in mind. The motion activated splash area had them running and squealing, so much fun and perfect for a hot Florida day.

Scared of spiders? Ha ha! Not these guys! Let’s see if they can catch a giant bug.

Go back in time and discover how to use an old hand pump. Play in the outdoor kitchen.

Or frog hop on tree stumps. I’ve only just touched on things Hammock Hollow Children’s Gardens has to offer. Grow plants and vegetables to feed wildlife in the Backyard Ramble. Dress up and put on a play in the outdoor Children’s Theater. Climb on rocks or roll down a grassy hill and so much more! Check out all there is to do at Hammock Hollow Children’s Gardens. You won’t be sorry!

Love that spider web. And the lily pads. Central Florida has a lot of cool stuff.

Absolutely love the new Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden at Bok Tower! As Florida residents, and a short 30-minute drive from our home, we go there often. Our toddler Grandson finds something new to explore with every visit!
