With blogging, like everything else in life, you have to keep your sense of humor! I am still learning about blogging, but one of the first things I learned was that it is very important to make it easy for people to subscribe to and follow my blog. I set out to make all that readily available.
It was fun to watch my email subscription list grow. Especially in the beginning each new subscription was so exciting. Then one day I received an email saying, “Unsubscription notification.” Bummer! I opened it and low and behold it was my very own husband’s email address that had unsubscribed! When he arrived home from work that day I confronted him. “Oh yes,” he said, “I was tired of deleting all those emails.” I thought it was hilarious! But in case you didn’t know, bloggers KNOW when you unsubscribe!
Recently I received another interesting email from a “fan.” It read: I have been trying to unsubscribe from your blog for a week now and I keep getting an error message. Can you help?
Seriously? It still cracks me up! If you can’t figure out how to unsubscribe maybe you are meant to keep reading hmm? Maybe I should have responded with, “Pound harder on your keyboard.” I’m not sure.
Anyway, if you don’t want to deal with the endless emails, subscribing to the RSS feed via a reader is a great option. Google reader is a popular choice. It is easy to see all of your subscriptions and scroll through them quickly.
Other easy ways to follow are through Facebook or Twitter. I would love to have you follow our blog one…or hey all…of these ways! But if you don’t, I’m just glad you stopped by, no hard feelings. I still love my husband, after all!

you are so cute!
I moved at the end of January to a self hosted Word Press and lost over 800 RSS readers. I am trying to build it up again. But with Facebook and Google+ most people aren’t subscribing via RSS it seems 🙁
I am stopping by from WFMW today. Glad that I did!
Blessings!
This is a comment. It is only a comment. Beeeeeeeeeeep… This has been a test.
I’ve read several of your blog posts without making a comment because I was too tired to think of something witty. I’m still tired, so I thought I would write a ridiculous comment to cheer you up.
Some of my closest friends don’t read my blog. But I’ve stayed friends with them despite the rejection… And with you. I just can’t seem to hit that unsubscribe button in case I miss something important…
Too funny, Esther! Your husband is a riot!
As a fellow new blogger, I’m addicted to the numbers game. I haven’t even gotten to email subscriptions yet. Thanks for helping me maintain a sense of humor about it all. Much appreciated.
Peace and good.
This is so true. You can’t get offended everytime someone leaves. I have to remind myself that I started blogging for an audience of ONE. Anyone He wants to bring along is an added blessing. Likewise, I can’t spend time focusing on the ones who leave, but the ones who remain and are feed & blessed by the words God gives me to write.
LOL you are sooo funny Esther! If I didn’t get to see you on BlogFrog I would definately subscribe to your email, RSS! I need a good laugh now and then LOL!
BLessings!
