Thanks to the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and The Motherhood for partnering with me for today’s post. All opinions are my own.
As this year is coming to a close and we begin thinking of the New Year, balance is something we strive for, something we make goals about. After all it is one of the keys of life isn’t it?
There are so many things that I’m constantly juggling and the truth is I have a terrible time keeping up with everything. Just when I think I went to bed with everything crossed off my list, I wake up to find I forgot something very important. The other day I received a tongue lashing from an acquaintance for failing to respond to an email. I should have responded. I meant to respond. I really just forgot about it in the midst of everything else I had going on. Such is life right? Still, we must continue to work toward the perfect balance in our jobs, relationships, responsibilities, and diets.
I recently had the opportunity to participate in a live conference call with representatives from the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. What fun to be able to hear from them directly about what is going on in the company and have my questions answered.
Did you know Dr Pepper Snapple Group is the third largest beverage manufacturer in the U.S., but the LEADER in flavors? DPS sells more than 50 brands of carbonated soft drinks, teas, juices, mixers and other premium beverages!
If you aren’t drinking a cola, there’s a pretty good chance you’re drinking one of DPS’s products!
I loved that one of Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s key messages is balance. “Healthy lives depend on balance, balancing the calories you consume through food & beverages with the calories you burn through physical activity.” I have always rejected the idea that only certain kinds of things are good or healthy and everything else should be shunned. So many great things we wouldn’t enjoy in that case! We don’t have to deprive ourselves of so many good things out there in the name of health. We do, however, need to maintain a balance!
When it comes to our diet we need to balance the calories in/calories out ratio. Dr Pepper Snapple Group provides a full range of products. They surpassed the goal of ensuring that at least half of its innovation projects are focused on health and wellness for the past two years. DPS provides people with the information they need to make informed choices offering in-depth nutrition content of all major products. Dr Pepper Snapple Group supports local and/or national programs that encourage active lifestyles and fitness – which emphasizes burning calories.
I love their Let’s Play program! DPS is helping kids get outside and play!
⦁ Since DPS began the Let’s Play Program, it has worked with KaBOOM! to build or fix up about 2,200 playgrounds across the country and with Good Sports to donate approximately $2 million in grants for new sports equipment, impacting more than 7.5 million kids.
⦁ By 2017, DPS’s Let’s Play initiative will provide nearly 10 million kids with more opportunities to play with either new or improved playgrounds and sports equipment, helping kids achieve healthier lifestyles.
⦁ More than 2,300 DPS employees have participated in KaBOOM! playground builds, racking up more than 18,000 volunteer hours.

We are always looking for ways to get active around here! In Texas chances are we can go outside and play, but with mud takes over our favorite way to get moving is with family dance offs on the Wii. How you maintain balance?
