Backyard Picnic with Kidfresh #KFHealthyKids #CBias

We went shopping at Tom Thumb in search of Kidfresh meals.  For details on my shopping trip you can check out my Google+ album.  They had four varieties in the store, and I brought  home at least one of each kind: Wagon Wheel Mac and Cheese, Spaghetti Loops Bolognese, Rainbow Rice and Chicken, and Muy Cheesy Quesadillas.  I am always looking for quick healthy meal options for the kids for busy days.

It  had been one of those homeshooling days when it feels like I’m running from one child to the other the entire day.  It was almost noon and we still had lots of work I wanted to get through before lunch.  It was a perfect day to use our frozen kid’s meals.  Usually I make the same thing for everyone and each one has to eat it whether they like it or not.  That’s just the way it is with a big family.  So they were so excited that they each got to pick which meal they wanted.  Since I was cooking several of them I popped them in the oven and kept working with the kids until they were almost done.

Just before the meals were done I cooked the quesadillas on the stove.  Three minutes on each side and they were done!  Spirits were kind of down on this day.  We needed a little sun and fresh air.  “Let’s eat in the club house today!” I told the kids.  Special, fun food and a backyard picnic.  Ya can’t beat that!

The kids enjoyed these healthy kid’s meals.

I thought the Mac and Cheese was especially good.  It tasted like homemade, but without all the work!

Joy said the quesadillas were as good as mine.  I’m not sure how I feel about that exactly!  Ha  ha!

After they ate, they ran off a little energy before hitting the books again.

Even Bobby enjoyed the cool breeze and change of pace!

Esther, your photographs are terrific. (Of course, your kids would look cute no matter who took their pictures!) But the pictures of the food made it look attractive. Good job.

What a great memory-making picnic for them! It’s these spontaneous things that kids remember most — I’m sure a big part of it will be because they got to pick their own Kidfresh meal.

These meals look very delicious! My daughter enjoyed eating KidFresh, but she was more surprised to find out all the veggies the meals have! Looks like your kids really had a fun time having their picnic – Thank you for sharing this post!
