Your summer bucket list should definitely include a back yard fire pit. Every kid should remember summers of roasting marshmallows right? Our road trip to Minnesota began with an awesome hotel surprise, then a wedding, kids getting to feed chickens, and a fun family time around the fire.
Any more fire pits are readily available and you can roast marshmallows pretty much anywhere, but it’s so much more special at a family gathering.
Look at those long sleeves. You know it ain’t Texas in June, and that’s a fact. It was gorgeous Minnesota weather even if we saw way too much of the state bird–the mosquito. I read that on a souvenir mug and everything. 😉
The men actually whittled sticks. We had to get the full experience you know! Then my brother gave the proper instructions for roasting marshmallows, before letting my kids at it. The kids had so much fun! They kept burning the marshmallows and “forcing” me to eat them. Yum, burnt marshmallows are the best!
Jason didn’t want to stand with the rest of the kids. And apparently it was too much trouble to move his chair closer to the fire, so he just got a longer stick. We got such a laugh over Jason and his long stick.
What a fun night! Are you roasting marshmallows this summer?
