A couple of weeks ago I went to visit my Aunt Sunny. She lives about an hour away from me so I don’t get over there as often as I’d like, but on this day I had other plans nearby so we planned to stop by.
I knew that my aunt had a surgery planned soon, but hadn’t thought that much about it. Everyone goes in for surgery now and then right? It wasn’t until I talked to her and then later to my mom that I realized how extensive the surgery was going to be.
Having had more than my share of hospital stays and knowing what they are like, I volunteered to stay the nights with her as she was to be in the hospital three nights.
I had been wanting a spring vacation. No, actually I was DYING to go on a spring vacation so I claimed this! For three nights I left home as Jason arrived home from work, drove to downtown Dallas (that’s how much I love my aunt), and then came home the next morning in time for Jason to leave again for work!
While it was hard to see my aunt suffering in pain through the nights, I had such a wonderful time visiting with her. I could listen to her stories for hours and hours. I have also enjoyed visiting with cousins that I haven’t seen in years.
Each morning I came home to homeschool the children and get the house work done. So you’ll have to forgive my lack of creativity and time on my site lately. I’ve been so tired I was forgetting very important things!
My aunt is now in a rehab center and my mom and niece came up to see her and spend time with her while she is there.
I’d appreciate your prayers for Sunny as she recovers from her operation! And thanks for your patience with my blogging! 🙂
