While we were at Okoboji, IA visiting with our extended family, we HAD to take a day to visit Arnold’s Park Amusement Park! When it comes to amusement parks, we have outdone ourselves this past year or so. With visits to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens Tampa, SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld Texas, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and more I wondered how this smaller amusement park would go over with my kids.
You know what? My kids had an absolute blast! Each park has some unique things to offer and Arnold’s Park is no different. We visited a day when most kids were still in school, and we had the run of the park. What? No lines? My kids rode, and rode, and rode every ride that they wanted without having to wait. It was an absolute dream.
It is free to enter Arnold’s Park which was very surprising to me. Parents and grandparents who do not feel like riding can accompany the family through the park, enjoying the atmosphere and watching the kids enjoy their thrills without having to pay. I loved that! Attractions like the Tipsy House are free for everyone. My boys had a ball running around in there and the Maze of Mirrors.
Ah, I love this spot. Those little monkeys right in front of the carousel just scream to be photographed!
The kids could not believe their luck when they realized the bungee corn trampoline jump was included in their park tickets, no extra fee for this! And if that wasn’t great enough there were next to no lines so each of the kids got as much time to jump as they wanted.
Joy, who is not pictured above, spent literally hours jumping and finally figured out how to do frontward and backward somersaults. And since this was such a huge hit with the kids, the adults spent lots of time chatting and watching.
Our time in Okoboji was one of the highlights of our summer. Though there are lots of great attractions, we are also quite partial to the company. And so we are so excited that Grandpa Bob is coming to see us this week. Can’t wait!
