Lake Conroe Homeowners Sweetwater Condos where we stayed when we were in the Houston area is connected with the April Sound Country Club on Lake Conroe.
You know, I don’t ever remember being at a country club before. I wasn’t sure I knew how to behave–at first, but after a little while I realized most people were…just people and no one looked at me as if I had three eyes.
Besides having so much more room in a condo, there is always lots more to do. We happened to be there for the “Dive in movie” and the kids loved watching How to Train Your Dragon II from the pool with popcorn and smores for the taking!
Speaking of the pool, well pools actually. The first one pictured above is the kiddie pool with only one and a half feet of water. This was perfect for my boys!
They splashed and splashed. It was so fun to watch them without worrying about them. I absolutely loved that there were lifeguards on duty so I was less concerned about the girls living it up in the big pool!
There is a very nice restaurant at the Country Club overlooking the lake.
Sunday was kids eat free and my sister invited us all out for dinner. We decided it was a gorgeous day to sit out on the balcony.
The view from the balcony was so beautiful and relaxing, even if we had six crazy kiddos with us!
I had the blackened tilapia tacos and they were oh so good! My daughter opted for quesadillas and she said they were even better than mine–not to sure how I feel about that… 🙂 And of course the little ones loved their mini corn dogs and fries. I always appreciate when there are kid friendly food items the kids will enjoy.
There was so much available right there at the condo like renting movies from the family movie library available for $1 and all the things at the Country Club area, but we spent much of out time in Houston visiting with my sister Sara and family, (She made me promise not to show her in photos.) and also back and forth to Galveston for Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens.
We actually only enjoyed the amenities on the property our first and last days there. My sister and I both said we want to go back and just enjoy the area!

Looks and sounds like a nice place to stay. I like it when restaurants have kid-friendly food also. I’m glad you all had a nice time there and with your sister.
Thank you Brenda!
