An Easy Festive Fall Breakfast for Kids

This is something I love to do for holidays.  I may have over done it just a little on the marshmallows this  time, but my kids didn’t complain!   They keep asking for “that special cereal.”   It is simply a bowl of crispy rice cereal topped with marshmallows, Fall colored sugars, and sprinkles.  Now how much more fun is this than just a bowl of rice cereal?

It’s pretty, but I don’t know if I’d go so far as to give them that much sugar at the start of the day. I could totally see doing it as a special treat for a birthday or holiday though … because we could use any color sprinkles to set the tone ๐Ÿ™‚ Cute!

You could take it one step further and microwave it for 30 seconds – Voila! Instant rice krispy treats. We made Smore Pie last night.

A layer of graham cracker crumbs, Melted Marshmallows with a little milk mixed in, and chocolate pie filling on top.

I’ll post recipe and results later. It was a hit ๐Ÿ™‚

I should try that for my kids! I like to make them some (plain) oatmeal and toss in a handful of chocolate candies to get all warm and melty!

This sure beats oatmeal and raisins!

I must confess, I too have actually given my kids sugar even though some may have turned a bit green at the thought. My latest: I gave my kids CHOCOLATE sandwiches for dinner…

I guess I figured that if my generation survived pitchers of Kool-Aid, my kids would survive chocolate spread every once in a while.
